The working title of my dissertation is Experience of Moral Value - a Metaethical Investigation.
I am currently researching foundational issues in ethics with pre-linguistic experience of value as a central focus of attention.
The main systematic-methodological idea in the dissertation is to engage a thorough phenomenology of value in contemporary metaethical discussions in the Analytic tradition. I have been studying the phenomenological tradition of formal axiology (e.g. Husserl, Scheler, Köhler, Mandelabum) and the Intuitionist tradition of ethics (e.g. Sidgwick, Moore, Ross) an am at the moment focusing on the issue of moral reasons and motivations.
I have a broad interests in systematic philosophy as well as the history of ideas; besides ethics and phenomenology, my main focus of research has been epistemology, philosophy of science, emotion theory, critical theory, and the Enlightenment. The project is funded by The Danish Council for Independent Research | Humanities ( Det Frie Forskningsråd | Kultur og Kommunikation, FKK).
