Posttraumatic stress disorder among young people - an empirical study of young Faroese

A survey based on a total population of 8th graders in the Faroe Islands. The survey was conducted in order to elucidate the lifetime prevalence of traumatic events and adverse life events and PTSD among young people. In addition, the purpose of examining the psychosocial variable that is related to the development and course of PTSD.  The questionnaire examines variables such as socio-demographic factors, attachment style, coping strategies, defense mechanisms, social support and traumatiseringsgrad.


Psychosocial stress and PTSD among arthritis sufferers children and their siblings

Arthritis Society Development Foundation has provided financial support for an extension of the parent survey on families with JRA. While follow-up questionnaires were sent out to parents in the spring of 2007, were 10-16 year-old children with arthritis and siblings in the age group also sent a questionnaire. Some of the results will be compared with results from parents, while others are more specific to children.

The study aims to provide a holistic approach to family stress and look at the associations in between the parents and the children's reactions.

 

Consequences of incest - a study of a group incest victims in treatment

Incest Fyn is a 3-year pilot project led by Else Artke and financed by the Municipality of Odense, Funen County and the Health Insurance Fund. This survey - Consequences of incest - is part of the overall evaluation of the project and contains in addition to questions about the incest, abuse the nature, severity and frequency, also questions about demographics, traumatiseringsgrad, social support in the past, coping strategies, control, self-esteem and current social support.

The effect of the treatment of incest victims

This study is part of the above project: "Consequences of incest, a study of incest victims in treatment" on Incest Fyn. The purpose of this project is to make a study of what effect the treatment has had.

This happens at a follow-up study of traumatiseringsgrad and other psychological and environmental factors in incest victims after they have received psychological treatment in alf a year.

Children's reactions and adaptation to the fireworks disaster in Seest

The trial was designed to assess the extent to which children traumatized, like the study looked at the factors that come into play on traumatiseringsgraden. 430 students from Tray School 0. - 10th grade participated.The survey was conducted in March 2006, 16 months after fyværkerikatastrofen.

Developing cartoon test for children



Comic test is developed for Danish children from 0 - 6th grade based on an American test of Dr. Richard Neugebauer from Columbia University.

Signs material, consisting of 34 images, aims to determine the degree of PTSD in children who can not yet read or reads poorly.
 
Eight groups of 40 children (cancer, seriously ill, injured, children placed in re ifm neglect, children in shelters, children who have lost a parent or sibling, sexually abused children and refugee children) examined the comic connection with a diagnostic interview and a parent-teacher meeting which also includes filling in a form concerning child 'Strengths and Difficulties'.
