Curd Knüpfer is an Associate Professor of Political Research at the DDC. His research focus lies on the shifting dynamics of political communication, with a strong emphasis on digital media formats — especially on the increasingly illiberal far right. His published empirical work has a strong focus on mixed methods and frame analysis, both in a national as well as transnational context.
As part of his ongoing projects, he is currently exploring how hyper-partisan media content and digital networks influence political party platforms, as well as how political parties and other democratic organizations are adapting to the ongoing process of social media fragmentation.
