Professor Kirsten Ohm Kyvik affiliated OPEN
Head of Department, Associate Professor, Ph.D. Kirsten Ohm Kyvik has by the first of June been appointed new professor with special responsibilities at the Clinical Institute at the University of Southern Denmark and she has been affiliated OPEN, to promote the creation of an epidemiological service facility.
Kirsten Ohm Kyvik is head of Institute of Regional Health Services Research and employeed as 20 % lecturer at Research Unit for Epidemiology, Institute of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark. She is also Master of Public Health from the same university. The 50 year old scientist was a medical graduate from Odense University, now University of Southern Denmark. Where she also took her PhD with the thesis: Establisment of a cohort of twins to inlight the etiological conditions for insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM). As part of her PhD-work Kirsten has played an important role in the development of The Danish Twin Registry and her research has often been based on this valuable cohort. Kirsten has published over 168 peer reviewed articles in international journals og her articles is highly quoted with an averange of 15 quotations per article, H-index 31. The professorship is a combined position and the affiliation to OPEN will be 25 % of a full time employment. The employment is limited to a 5 year period. Kirsten continues her employment as head of Institute of Regional Health Services Research and lecturer at Institute of Public Health. The functions for OPEN will be establising new cohorts and helping other scientist getting started with epidemiological research. |
