Danish member of the board of ASBMR
Professor at OPEN, Bo Abrahamsen has been elected as member of the Board of Directors of The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research
Bo Abrahamsen, Professor at OPEN (Odense Patient data Explorative Network), University of Southern Denmark and Consultant Endocrinologist at the Research Centre for Ageing and Osteoporosis, Glostrup Hospital, has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors (ASBMR Council) of the ASBMR (The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research). His three-year term began immediately following the 2014 ASBMR Annual Meeting in Houston this September. ASBMR is one of the leading scientific societies in the field of bone research. The society has 4000 members in 50 countries. This is the first time a Dane has been elected for a position on the board, only three times prior to this election, a European has been elected, all three times scientists from the UK. Bo is acknowledged for his contribution to osteoporosis research, a field in which he has been active in more than 20 years. OPEN wishes to congratulate Bo on this recognition of his work. OPEN also congratulates Peter Schwarz with his seat in ASBMR’s Etic Comity and congratulations to Thomas Brix who has been elected for member of the board in The European Thyroid Association.
