Collaborators

The impact of ACE-lab shows in its transdisciplinary magnitude and its multi-facetted potential for connecting with research environments and businesses/organizations across disciplinary and institutional boundaries. Currently, the lab projects in spe and the lab collaborations with parties from three different faculties at the SDU, as well as from other (both national and international) universities and external organizations.

Anne Mangen is a full professor at the National Center for Reading Education and Research at the University of Stavanger. Her main area of expertice is empirical research on the effects of digitization on cognitive and experiential aspects of reading, comparing the reading of different kinds of texts on various reading devices and measuring the effect of technical and material affordances of the interface. Her other research interests include phenomenology of reading and writing, embodied cognition, and cognitive and educational neuroscience.

Christian Benne is a full professor of German and European Literature and Intellectual History at the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies at the University of Copenhagen. His research is focused on literature, philosophy, manuscript studies and book history. He currently leads the research group Thinking the European Republic of Letters at the Centre for Modern European Studies at Copenhagen University (with Sabrina Ebbersmeyer); cf. https://cemes.ku.dk/research.

Per Linell is the author of ground-breaking work in Dialogism and the study of human Language, Communication and Interaction. He is currently Professor emeritus at Göteborg University, where he was a senior professor in Communication (Department of Education, Communication and Learning) in 2011-2015.

Oskar Lindwall is an associate professor at the Department of Education, Communication and Learning at the University of Gothenburg. His research is centered around face-to-face interaction, in particular on settings of teaching, learning and instructional demonstrations. His research interests include learning and instruction in higher education, video research in the learning sciences, ethnomethodology and conversation analysis.

Jürgen Streeck (Dr.phil, Freie Universität Berlin) is a linguist and professor of communication studies, Germanic studies, and anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin. He has contributed profoundly to the study of Embodied Interaction, and in particular, Gesture and the role of the human hands in action and interaction, and touch. His research activities include Conversation Analysis, micro-ethnography, advances in Phenomenology and Intercorporeality as well as studies of Children’s lives and worlds, Rap music and Art.

Hannele Dufva is Professor emerita in Applied Linguistics at University of Jyväskyla. Her research includes studies in Applied Linguistics, Multilingualism, Embodied Mind and Dialogism.

David Kirsh is a Professor in Cognitive Science at UC San Diego. He has contributed to laying the ground for studies of distributed and embodied cognition. His research includes ground-breaking work in cognitive ethnography, distributed and embodied cognition, Human-computer Interaction, “thinking with things”, design and e-learning.

Joanna Rączaszek-Leonardi is a Professor of Psychology at Warsaw University. Her excellent research includes work in Dynamical Systems, empirical studies of human interaction, theoretical contributions to Cognitive Semiotics and Embodied and Distributed approaches to cognition. She is particularly interested also in how language makes cognition collective in many ways, over many time-scales: evolutionary, cultural, developmental, ‘social’ & on-line.

Julia Katila is a PhD and Post Doc scholar at Department of Sociology, Tampere University. Her research is focused on touch, affect and gestures in institutional and non-institutional interactions. Her approach to the study of human interaction combine phenomenology, micro interaction analysis, and conversation analysis.
