The impact of ACE-lab shows in its transdisciplinary magnitude and its multi-facetted potential for connecting with research environments and businesses/organizations across disciplinary and institutional boundaries. Currently, the lab projects in spe and the lab collaborations with parties from three different faculties at the SDU, as well as from other (both national and international) universities and external organizations.

Anne Mangen is a full professor at the National Center for Reading Education and Research at the University of Stavanger. Her main area of expertice is empirical research on the effects of digitization on cognitive and experiential aspects of reading, comparing the reading of different kinds of texts on various reading devices and measuring the effect of technical and material affordances of the interface. Her other research interests include phenomenology of reading and writing, embodied cognition, and cognitive and educational neuroscience.

Christian Benne is a full professor of German and European Literature and Intellectual History at the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies at the University of Copenhagen. His research is focused on literature, philosophy, manuscript studies and book history. Oskar Lindwall is an associate professor at the Department of Education, Communication and Learning at the University of Gothenburg. His research is centered around face-to-face interaction, in particular on settings of teaching, learning and instructional demonstrations. His research interests include learning and instruction in higher education, video research in the learning sciences, ethnomethodology and conversation analysis.

Jürgen Streeck (Dr.phil, Freie Universität Berlin) is a linguist and professor of communication studies, Germanic studies, and anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin. He has contributed profoundly to the study of Embodied Interaction, and in particular, Gesture and the role of the human hands in action and interaction, and touch. His research activities include Conversation Analysis, micro-ethnography, advances in Phenomenology and Intercorporeality as well as studies of Children’s lives and worlds, Rap music and Art.

Joanna Rączaszek-Leonardi is a Professor of Psychology at Warsaw University. Her excellent research includes work in Dynamical Systems, empirical studies of human interaction, theoretical contributions to Cognitive Semiotics and Embodied and Distributed approaches to cognition. She is particularly interested also in how language makes cognition collective in many ways, over many time-scales: evolutionary, cultural, developmental, ‘social’ & on-line.
