Profile

In the context of entrepreneurial value creation, cognition is decisive to explain the emergence of new venture ideas, intentions and activity. At TEI, we contextualise this approach into studies on entrepreneurial intentions, opportunities and decision making, considering the relevance of human and social capital. To better understand what leads women graduates into entrepreneurial activity, we have been researching the backgrounds of female entrepreneurs compared to female graduates who choose other careers. We have also analysed gender stereotypes in entrepreneurship and the duration of women’s nascent entrepreneurial processes.

Silke Tegtmeier from TEI is part of the VentureWærft which aims at making an impact for a vibrant start-up climate in the border region Flensburg-Sønderborg.
