The National Institute of Public Health carries out research into the factors that most impact upon the population’s health, morbidity and mortality, and we embrace a broad range of disciplines and methodological approaches.
Our goal is to create knowledge that gives the best possible conditions for a healthy and pleasant life. This is partly through our research and partly through our special task of assisting the authorities and other actors involved with research-based guidance.
In addition to research and research-based guidance, the institute lists education and dissemination of public health knowledge as core competences.
The National Institute of Public Health has 120 employees, of whom 90 are researchers. The institute belongs to the Faculty of Health Sciences at SDU and is based in Studiegården in Copenhagen.
