Professor Dewan Ashan, Associate Professor
Department of Sociology, Environmental and Business Economics, University of Southern Denmark
Dewan Ahsan currently holds the full-time position of the Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, Environmental and Business Economics (SEBE).
He is the Co-head of Danish Center for Risk and Safety Management (a center jointly run by Aalborg University and SDU). Before joining to SEBE, Denmark, Ahsan served as the Chairman (2011-2013), Department Fisheries, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
During his 20 years career at University level (Danish and Bangladeshi Universities), Dr. Ahsan has gathered vast research and consultancy experiences in Northern Europe, South Asia and South-East Asia. His researches focus on fisheries and aquaculture management, risk management and stakeholder engagement for sustainability of natural resources, climate change impact and adaptation strategies and circular economy. Ahsan always keen to conduct empirical based researches by engaging various academic and non-academic stakeholders. He has actively participated in several international collaborative researcher project (with research grant from EU, IUCN, NORHED, DANIDA, SIDA, DFID and others) as the leader, co-leader and a project researcher.
