I am a PhD student studying benthic meiofauna of hadal ecosystems. My research interest is mainly on the adaptation mechanisms and the evolutionary history of marine invertebrates surviving in extreme habitats.

To reveal the interaction between the extreme environment and the animal, we will explore the potential of apply sequencing-based molecular evidence (genomics, metabarcoding, metagenomics, etc.) on hadal nematodes. Together with traditional taxonomic classification, we target to understand the biogeography and connectivity within and between the hadal environments as well as connectivity other marine realms.

Further,  we will investigate the diversity and the community structure of hadal nematodes in relation of different environmental drivers, such as food supply and predation.

The project will provide us with a better understanding of the potential factors of shaping the biological communities in the hadal zones.
