My interests are how sediment strata is formed and what kind of information is preserved or lost at sediment water interface in different marine environments. To investigate on-going sedimentation processes, I use long-term camera observations, X-ray CT scanning and analyze the benthic distribution of natural radionuclides; 210Pb and 137Cs. The data provide insights on recent sediment accumulation rates and depositional mass wasting events. The complementary approach of the different techniques provides a detailed insight on sedimentation processes in bathyal, abyssal to hadal environments.
