I hold a master in biochemistry and molecular biology from SDU. I have done my training in the lab of Susanne Mandrup where in my bachelor I worked with the effects of dexamethasone on the late differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) into osteoblasts and adipocytes. In my masters I worked on two projects, one where I investigated the effects of aging on differentially expressed transcription factors in hMSCs and one where I studied the effects of a chromatin remodelling complex called ISWI on the differentiation potential of hMSCs. I have recently started in the KMEB as a research assistant where I work with the optimization and re-development of a IGF-I bioactivity assay that can be used to give a more biological relevant measurement of IGF-I in serum samples from patients.
In my spare time I like spending time with family and friends as well as playing with my dog. I enjoy taking my racing bike for a spin whenever the weather allows it.Kristian Horsman Hansen
