NoFa X: The10th Nordic Conference on subject didactics
Subject Didactics in the Past, Present and the Future: Why, How, What?
As part of the development and discussion of the field, NoFa has served as a forum for presenting, sharing, and discussing subject didactics. At this 10th anniversary NoFa conference, we want to make a status asking what characterises, and could characterise, subject didactics in the past, present and in the future. More specifically, we have asked three keynote speakers to address the whys, hows and whats of subject didactics, and we encourage participants to address this theme in symposia and papers as well (while also calling for, of course, papers on any theme and subject).
We are honored to announce that the three plenary speakers and their titles are:
- Karl Maton, professor, University of Sydney: Not drowning but waving: What can LCT offer the future of subject education?
- Elin Sæther, associate professor, University of Oslo: The hopefulness in education: subject didactics and the future
- Peter Hobel, associate professor, University of Southern Denmark: Thinking through Bildung: Analysing the histories, current challenges, and potential futures of Nordic subject didactics
The conference will bring together senior and junior academics, PhD students and teacher educators, to present and discuss research on subject education and teaching. We welcome disciplinary and interdisciplinary contributions from participants from within and outside the Nordic countries. The working language of the conference will be Scandinavian languages and English, dependent on your preference.
