Ph.D. Jeppe Nevers is Professor of Modern History at SDU. He has written on a wide range of topics in modern Danish and European history, with an emphasis on the history of democracy, business history, and conceptual history. He is author or editor of several books, and his work is also published in journals such as Journal of Modern European History, Enterprise & Society, Geschichte und Gesellschaft, Business History, Contributions to the History of Concepts, and Scandinavian Journal of History. His latest book is a general history of Danish capitalism (“Vejen til velstand: Kapitalismen og det moderne Danmark”, w. Per Boje, 2024). Trained as a historian at SDU (Ph.D. 2008), Jeppe Nevers has been a visitor at the University of Freiburg, at Harvard University, and most recently at the University of Oxford (Jesus College).
Prof. Jeppe Nevers has directed or co-directed several Danish and international research projects with grants from a range of different funding bodies. He is the recipient of the gold medal of the University of Southern Denmark and the Elite Research Travel Grant awarded by the Danish Ministry of Science, and he has served as consultant to public and private organizations, including the Ministry of Justice and the Danish parliament. He is a member of various boards and currently serves as chairman of the University Press of Southern Denmark.
