Introduction:
The integration of digital and AI technologies into the healthcare landscape profoundly impacts work dynamics, professional identities, and expertise of healthcare professionals (HCPs). This seminar delves into various work practices and professions in hospitals, shedding light on the often- overlooked realm of data management and data work essential to the functionality of digital systems (Hoeyer 2023; Bruun & Krause-Jensen 2021).
Focus is on the capabilities, practices and expertise that are expected from workplaces, organizations and institutions to integrate digital technologies into work practices and, in turn, the associated abilities and skills that working with these technologies engender in the people involved.
We will furthermore explore how the implementation of digital tools influences the design of work processes, workflow patterns, decision-making frameworks, and ultimately, the outcomes achieved, along with the impact on professionals' overall well-being. Through a comparison we aim to elucidate examples showcasing the formation, practice, and professional expertise, while also exploring the nuanced experiences and perceptions surrounding professional identities in this evolving landscape.
