ATLAS recruits two talented postdocs

01.02.2018

This spring we welcome two young talented researchers to our ATLAS center. Both have a strong scientific background and will in the next few years work alongside our skilled staff.

Anitta Kinga Sárvári holds a PhD-degree from Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Debrecen, Hungary, where she studied regulation of inflammation by adipocytes through interaction with macrophages and in atypical antipsychotic drug treatments. She now joins us after working as a postdoctoral fellow at the Integrated Cardio Metabolic Centre, Department of Medicine, Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. Anitta will be a part of Susanne Mandrup’s group, and her focus will be on fat tissue plasticity.

Fabio Avolio is a rather experienced postdoctoral researcher who obtained his PhD degree in 2008, whereafter he continued his scientific career in the field of snoRNA and microRNA in the laboratory of Angus Lamond, University of Dundee, Scotland. As a postdoc at the University of Turin, Italy, he worked with molecular mechanisms controlling self-renewal, differentiation, and reprogramming of stem cells, and as of lately, he has been working with diabetes genetics at the Institut Valrose Biologie in Nice, France. Fabio will be part of Lars Grøntved’s research group where he will focus on liver tissue plasticity.
