Louise Elmelund-Præstekær has a strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology, coupled with a flair for administrative tasks. She completed her PhD in 2012 with a dissertation on beneficial effects of plant and herbal extracts on fat storage and homeostasis, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship (2012-2015) in the group of Blagoy Blagoev, within the field of protein purification and mass spectrometry. This led to a job as process responsible chemist in production support at Novo Nordisk, where she worked intensely with GMP, GDP, and LEAN.
In ATLAS, she coordinates the majority of the administrative issues and supports the centre's many tasks. This includes maintaining the overview of the center's economy, annual reporting of progress and finances, planning and carrying out meetings and conferences, proofreading of written material, and processing of recruitments. Louise has coordinated our activities in ATLAS since January 2018.
