Course description

Those who find it difficult to settle down and concentrate entirely on writing a manuscript for publication can apply for participation at a five-day (Monday morning till Friday afternoon) writing retreat.
The participants are expected to spend all their time (24h) at the venue.
To be eligible for this course you must:
- have reached the stage in your research program, when it is time to write an article or perhaps the whole thesis
- have participated in one of the article writing courses or have received similar assistance from your supervisors
- no later than 1 February, apply online and send a one-page enrollment to the course secretary (cthoruphansen@health.sdu.dk) including your motivation for participating in this course and a short description of the paper you will work. Add the title of your PhD, affiliation and the name of your supervisors. (By 25 February. you will receive an e-mail telling you whether you have a a seat in the course.)
This program is particularly suitable for PhD students with young children or those with other reasons that make it difficult to get the required uninterrupted writing time.
During the retreat, you will be given a room with a bed and a desk. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served. The surroundings are suitable for walks and runs.
If you enroll for this course, you are expected to participate all days/nights, not only part of the course.

Charlotte Leboeuf-Yde, will help you with structuring and technical writing issues throughout the week.
We will do this by morning (starter) sessions for all, energy’sers around the meals, small group peer-support as well as individual counselling and supervision. However, most of the time, you will simply be on your own.

Course fee
The course is free for PhD students enrolled at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark.
For PhD students enrolled at other universities under the open market agreement, the fee is DKK 10175,-
For others, the fee is DKK 21755,-.
