An introduction to systematic review and meta-analysis

The course was last conducted in 2018.

Course description

The aim of the PhD course is to facilitate participants’ comprehensive reflection on the main components of a systematic review and meta-analysis.

The four day course is designed around a serious of lectures (L) and group work (GW) sessions for about 20 participants. The group work sessions will imply work on an assigned case (one to each of four groups): Present the design of a systematic review of treatment A for condition B. We will try to select cases that course participants are actually working on, if that is unpractical we will develop hypothetical cases.

The course is suited for students that are undertaking a systematic review but also intended as a sound introduction to the discipline.

Preparations

A course folder will include practical information + access information to a website where course materiel texts can be found: basic literature on systematic reviews, meta-analysis, etc.
