What are 'wicked problems'?
Different disciplines adhere to different definitions of the term 'wicked problems'. At DIAS, we define a wicked problem as a societal issue with an inherently complex nature; a problem to which there are no obvious or simple solutions.
DIAS Wicked Problems explores some of society’s most intricate challenges. The aim is not to propose simple solutions, but to offer a space to explore the vast complexity of these challenges and ultimately inspire scholars who encounter them in their research. In this space, we pave the way for interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together world-class researchers across various disciplines – from DIAS and beyond.
