Professor Kim Klyver is an internationally recognised scholar at the University of Southern Denmark and an adjunct professor at the University of Adelaide. He has previously held positions at the Stockholm School of Economics (part-time) in Sweden, Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, and Stanford University in the USA.
Professor Klyver is captivated by the ways in which entrepreneurs and SMEs engage with their environments to uncover opportunities, secure resources, and establish legitimacy. Over his distinguished 20+ year career, he has focused his research on entrepreneurs and SMEs, particularly in the areas of networks, external crises, psychology, culture, and gender differences.
He has published numerous articles in top-tier journals and authored several books, including a best-selling entrepreneurship textbook and the second-best management book of 2021, as nominated by Børsen. He serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Business Research and is a member of the editorial boards of several top-tier journals. His research has been funded by Independent Research Fund Denmark, the Danish Industry Foundation, and the Carlsberg Foundation, and has received multiple international awards.
Additionally, Professor Klyver has advised and spoken for the European Commission, the Chinese government, various municipalities, the Danish Business Authority, the Innovation Fund, and at numerous business conferences. He is frequently consulted as an expert by the media and regularly writes op-eds on entrepreneurship topics in national newspapers.
