Camilla is doing her research in the field “Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease” also called NAFLD. NAFLD is closely linked to the metabolic syndrome, and affect more than 25% of people world wide. Knowledge about NAFLD is still missing. How is it developed? How do we manage the disease in the best way? How do we treat it? The last couple of years Camilla have worked to conduct a randomized controlled trial on how the diet affect NAFLD, type 2 diabetes and the microbiome. Hopefully her research will create new knowledge to the field. Overall she is very interested in mechanisms of the metabolism, the gut microbiome and the effect on NAFLD and type 2 diabetes.
