We are proud and honoured to welcome Dr. Agnes Callamard, Secretary General of the world’s largest non-governmental human rights organisation, Amnesty International to the Danish Institute for Advanced Study.
Having recently been the United Nations Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, Agnes Callamard led groundbreaking investigations into the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, and the shooting down of Ukraine Airlines flight PS752.
As Secretary General, Dr. Callamard is the Chief Executive of Amnesty’s International Secretariat and the principal spokesperson of the global interdisciplinary Amnesty movement, which has some 10 million supporters, and offices in more than 70 countries. Amnesty is a global leader, working on issues that range from upholding human rights in the Ukraine War, to the impact of Climate Change on human rights around the world.
Join us at DIAS, where Dr Callamard will discuss these important issues.
