DDC CONVERSATIONS

DDC Conversations is a webinar series and a podcast developed at the Digital Democracy Centre (DDC). The main objective is to discuss relevant topics around digital democracy, such as civility, misinformation, polarization, and trust. DDC Conversations aims to approximate scholars and practitioners to stimulate them to think together about the challenges interposed to democracy around the world.

The live meetings occur approximately every three months and are mediated by postdoctoral researcher Marília Gehrke. While the webinars are interactive on the Riverside platform, the podcast episodes contain the guests’ talks.

The initiative was launched in April 2022, and, so far, different topics have been covered. The first season had the themes “Factual beliefs, polarization, and platform regulation in the democratic society,” “Emotions and (in)civility in political conversations”, and “Journalism to protect democracy.”. Early career and senior females and male specialists were invited to participate.
