We are super excited to announce that Dr Lena Frischlich will join DDC as an Associate Professor and member of the DDC Steering Group!

Lena Frischlich is a communication scientist and media psychologist. Her research interests include new opportunity structures that emerge in the digital realm for both manipulative communication such as propaganda, disinformation, or hate speech but also for strengthening democracy and empowering individual media users.

She studies these questions from an interdisciplinary and multi-methodological perspective, combining quantitative, qualitative, and computational measures.

Lena completed her PhD in Psychology at the University of Cologne and worked as Post-Doc at the Department of Communication at the University of Muenster.

Between 2018 and 2023 she led an interdisciplinary junior research group on democratic resilience (DemoRESILdigital) in Muenster. Between 2020 and 2021 and in 2023 she served as an interim professor for Communication at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.

Lena will start at DDC on October 1, 2023.
