Period: 2017 - 2019
Project aim: This is a research project with market development perspective. The project “Innovation on Wings” focuses on the potential of developing innovative application opportunities for drones. The ambition is to develop Danish enterprises’ ideas for innovation based on the drone platform - an area with great potential for growth and jobs. CI2M collaborates with the SDU UAS Center and the UAS Test Center on this project.
Funded by: The Danish Innovation Fund
Period: 2016 - 2020
Project aim: This is a research project with technology and innovation development perspective. To this day, unmanned autonomous drones must stay within visual contact of the pilot to avoid obstacles in the air. The FreeD project is developing technologies that make it possible for drones to fly freely and safely Beyond Visual Line of Sight (B-VLOS). B-VLOS flights will lead to alternative e-commerce transportation opportunities and be an important player in monitoring environmental challenges such as ship emissions. CI2M partners with the SDU UAS Center on this project.

Project aim: The activity "Innovation in Transport" relates to all other activities in TINV. The focus of this research is on supporting the development of innovative capabilities of the participating firms as well as on developing specific tools to support knowledge transfer in the innovation network. Since the participants in the transport and logistics sector are many and the organization is complex, it requires both an interdisciplinary and business-oriented approach to develop useful tools to promote knowledge transfer and innovation ability. For further information see the project homepage: www.tinv.dk
Funded by: Internal funding from Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Social Sciences, SDU
Period: 2007 – ongoing
Project aim: EMS is an international survey which in 2015 was carried out in 14 countries in Europe and which currently involves 15 countries in Europe. The project core is a survey on technological process innovation in manufacturing firms. The partners collaborate on identifying core questions and subjects, which are used in all surveys, and on joint publications utilizing both national data alone and international data in collaboration. The Danish EMS data were collected in 2009, 2012, and 2015. The survey aims to map and evaluate status and development of measures to improve production capabilities in companies. Contact ian@sam.sdu.dk for newsletters from the project. The newsletters demonstrate the latest findings. For more information on the European project, see the international website:

Project aim: Research related to the “BSR Innovation Express” effort to initiate, develop or enhance transnational cooperation activities – leveraging cluster organizations (or similar) to develop proposals for their SME members and thereby foster the internationalization of SMEs through clusters or business networks. The BSR Innovation Express concept encompasses both a cluster-to-cluster matchmaking event and a coordinated transnational call for proposals (where approved projects are funded through distributed regional/national sources).
Funded by: Fund for Green Business Development, under the Danish Business Authority
Period: 2014-2015
Project aim: The purpose of this research project is first to present an overview of the applied measures for materials savings currently used in Danish manufacturing industry. Second the project tries to give an estimate of the unused potential for materials savings that still exists in the area. For this purpose the research report presents the results from a survey conducted in 2014/2015, the results from this survey are compared to the results of a research project from 2012 describing manufacturing companies in Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands.
The research report is made by Center for Integrative Innovation Management in Cooperation with Fund for Green Business Development, under the Danish Business Authority. Read the report here (in Danish only). For further information see www.grønomstilling.dk
