Henrik Ravn participates in research in health interventions for children in low income countries. He is Chief Statistician for Bandim Health Project's Danish department at SSI, which is managed by Christine Stabell Benn, Professor at OPEN. As researcher affiliated to OPEN, Henrik becomes part of the OPEN Advice team who offers consultations to researchers and PhD-students.
In 1994 Henrik Ravn was employed as a Statistician at SSI, analyzing the large amounts of data generated from Guinea-Bissau. He worked a couple of years in Guinea-Bissau as Project Statistician and was responsible for the data collection. Henrik defended his PhD thesis in biostatistics from Copenhagen University in 2002 and then continued on as Post.Doc. and later as Chief Statistician for the Bandim Health Project. Professionally Henrik Ravn has specialized in statistical analysis of lifespan data related to the vaccines effect on child mortality. Henrik Ravn is co-author on more than 120 publications in international journals and has held a series of statistical courses for master and PhD-students at Copenhagen University and in Guinea-Bissau, Ghana and Tanzania.
