Career planning
We have a stimulating and inspiring multidisciplinary work environment. We believe that through collaboration across disciplines, exciting research activities and a healthy work environment, we can attract skilled researchers. We do monthly research meetings with PhD students, postdocs, professors, and other staff involved in research. At most meetings we invite a guest lecture.
Twice a yeas, we present our ongoing research projects for the clinical staff. On top of that we have four research committee meetings every year for patients and relatives. At these meetings we present the new PhD projects. We aim to include patients in our research. Furthermore, we regulary arrange social events to improve wellbeing and good spirit in the research unit.
We focus on education and career development for those who are not medical doctors. The Department of Clinical Research, SDU supports these efforts through a website for career planning.
Onboarding
We acknowledge that onboarding is extremely important. The International Staff office, SDU supports us when integrating international colleagues. We focus on both professional and social inclusion. The responsibility for onboarding is delegated to section leaders in the research unit. Our research coordinator handles the practical aspects of the onboarding process. We aim at building social ties across our disciplines.
Supervision
Our research unit contributes to three study programs: Medicine, audio logopedics and audiology. Our unit has the overall responsibility for the latter at SDU. We deliver approx. 1.000 hours of teaching each year. We supervise students in medicine, audiology, and audiologopedics. On top of that, we supervise PhD students, postdocs, and tenure-track assistant professors. Normally we will have 7-10 PhD students
