Understanding the climate dynamics that controls the climate variations seen in the subpolar areas are essential when it comes to predicting future climate changes.
The PhD project is focused on how the physical processes in the ocean relate to the climate variations we experience. For example: If temperatures rise, ocean currents could change, which could trigger some new changes in climate.
The PhD project uses data from DMI’s climate model and field collected data from an expedition to Qaanaaq in North Greenland.
