I am a nurse and community health nurse and have worked with newborns and infants in hospitals and in municipal settings, where I work with both schoolchildren and infants in their homes.
While writing my master’s thesis for the healthcare study programme, I became acquainted with Janni Ammitzbøll’s research on the PUF method. At that time, I became very interested in the fact that a validated method can help identify potential mental vulnerabilities in very young infants, with the aim of supporting these infants and their families at an early stage in their lives.
I took the education as a VIPP-SD intervener in 2020 and have subsequently helped adapt the method to the Danish healthcare service as well as helping to develop and test the VIPP-PUF method with the researchers at SDU.
In the context of the healthcare service, I have helped validate the PUF method, and I help teach the PUF programme to community healthcare colleagues. Through this work, I contribute to strengthening the quality of detection of potential developmental vulnerabilities early in the child’s life.
