Myocardial infarction remains a major clinical challenge affecting millions of people worldwide.
Benefitting these heart patients, the Andersen group particularly studies future strategies to repair the damaged heart with a focus on how to replenish the lost pool of cardiomyocytes as well as on how to hamper the fibrotic response. Moreover, we take part in translating knowledge on stem cells and tissue regeneration into clinical practice.
