The research unit is an active part of the nationwide Danish Blood Donor Study, which has enrolled over 150,000 Danish blood donors, who partly answered health questionnaires and partly supplied blood samples and DNA to the country's largest project biobank. The material is widely used to answer a number of scientific questions about donors' health. There are published approx. 1 scientific article per month in this study.
