The Faculty of Science has a number of councils, boards and committees whose purpose is to advise the management and ensure co-determination and involvement regarding scientific, technical and administrative matters.
The faculty's advisory boards contribute to ensuring the quality and relevance of our degree programmes. The faculty involves the advisory in the development of new and existing programmes, as well as in the development of new forms of teaching and examination.
The Academic Council contributes to ensuring co-determination and staff involvement in academic matters. The council can express its views on all academic matters that have a significant impact on the university's activities.
The Faculty Occupational Health and Safety Committee (FAMU) supports the General Occupational Health and Safety Committee in carrying out strategic and overall tasks relating to health and safety, as well as coordinating the university’s occupational health and safety work at the Faculty of Science.
The overall aim of the faculty's Gender Equality Committee is to support the university's goal of increasing the proportion of female researchers in permanent positions, so that the gender distribution among the scientific staff will reflect the surrounding society to a greater extent.
The Liaison Committee is a forum for deliberations between management and employees about the development and future of the Faculty of Science as a workplace.
The objective of the study boards is to ensure the involvement and contributory influence of students and academic staff in matters related to education and teaching.
SUSTAIN aims to establish best practice within sustainable everyday operations across the faculty's departments and the faculty administration. The committee works locally and together with Technical Services and other relevant stakeholders at SDU.
