EUROsociAL+ exchange
In March 2018, SDU’s Gender Equaltiy Team joined a EUROsociAL+ exchange in Copenhagen with a delegation from Mexico's National Institute for Women (INMUJERES)
The delegation wanted to learn more about the framework and possibilities for gender equality work in practice in a public organization in Denmark, and GET was consequently invited to present SDU’s previous, current and upcoming gender equality endeavors.
EUROsociAL+ is a corporation program between Latin America and the EU. This program aims to reinforce social cohesion in Latin America by linking Latin-American and European public administrations and also by mutual learning and exchange of gender equality practices in both regions. A key policy area is gender. The program’s website provides more information.
In addition to their meeting with GET, during their two-day visit to Denmark the Mexican delegation also met with e.g. KVINFO (the Danish Centre for Research and Information on Gender, Equality and Diversity) and with the Danish Ministry for Equal Opportunities. The delegation’s visit was facilitated by Expertise France, a public international cooperation agency involved in development projects across the world with themes such as democracy, security and sustainability.
GET’s meeting with the Mexican delegation provided a fruitful and inspiring platform for exchanging experiences, challenges and opportunities across very varied regional and national contexts, and it also allowed GET to establish a great contact with Expertise France for future collaborations.
