Combine business economics and business languages
Do you want to work in international companies or organisations where the tasks cross both national and linguistic borders?
If you want to combine business economics and languages in an international academic environment, International Business Administration and Foreign Languages is the Bachelor programme for you. The Bachelor programme gives you a locally based, but internationally oriented, degree that covers marketing, management, economics, organisational psychology, entrepreneurship, foreign languages (Danish/German and English), cultural studies and intercultural communication. In this way, the programme combines Business and Social Sciences with the Humanities.
Broad range of skills
The Bachelor programme gives you international business skills which are requested by companies and organisations with international activities in a variety of industries and sectors. The programme enables you to contribute to problem solving and to identify organisational strengths and weaknesses as well as market-related challenges and opportunities. Along with the business and socio-economics courses you will gain a basic knowledge of languages, communication, information technology and business law. It gives you the skills to analyse and solve a wide range of tasks in national and international companies.
An international academic environment
You become part of an international academic environment where you will study with German and Danish fellow students and have both Danish and German lecturers. The programme has been developed in collaboration with Europa-Universität Flensburg and the teaching takes place on both SDU’s campus in Sønderborg and Europa-Universität Flensburg’s campus in Flensburg.
In the course of your studies, you engage with three languages – English, German and Danish – based on concrete international contexts where the languages are used. The instructional language in most disciplines is English. In addition, there are joint courses within the economic and business and social sciences disciplines in German, Danish and English.
The programme is unique because it has roots on both sides of the Danish-German border. It provides an academic environment and a student life that are international in nature and the obtained Bachelor’s degree gives you unique job opportunities in both Denmark and Germany – Denmark’s largest trading partner.
Master's degree
The Bachelor programme International Business Administration and Foreign Languages grants you direct access to the Master’s degree programme MSc in Business, Language and Culture, and you also have the opportunity to choose between a number of other Master’s degree programmes.
All students will be enrolled at both SDU and Europa-Universität Flensburg (EUF). It is important to note that EUF levies a semester fee from all students. The fee, which all EUF students are required to pay each semester, covers, among other things, complimentary public bus transportation in Flensburg, as well as train and bus transportation in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.
