The Minor in Biology places particular emphasis on the interactions of living organisms with the surrounding world. The programme provides broad insight into how animals interact with their surroundings and adapts to challenging changes in biotic and abiotic environmental factors.
We have very good facilities for experimental work, both in our own laboratories and at two field stations in Kerteminde and on South Funen, which gives you a unique framework for immersing yourself in the world of biology.
As a student with a Minor in Biology, you will get to know where new knowledge is created. We are especially internationally recognised for our research in water and the environment, the evolution of life on Earth and evolutionary biodemography. But our research also involves, for example, mussel farming, invasive species, climate changes, communication, and environmentally harmful substances.
Although the main emphasis in the teaching is on studies of whole organisms, we also use the latest biotechnological methods to study the functions of cells and molecules.
The Minor programme in Biology is offered only in Danish. Therefore, you must be able to prove Danish language proficiency in order to be admitted into the programme.
