Cochrane Denmark
Cochrane Denmark is the national centre of the international research network Cochrane. We are closely affiliated with the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine Odense and are hosted at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, Denmark.
At Cochrane Denmark, we aim to support the production and use of Cochrane systematic reviews. We do this through several initiatives, such as offering training activities and consultancy for Cochrane authors and researchers undertaking evidence synthesis. We also help enable the use and visibility of Cochrane systematic reviews, primarily in Denmark and the Nordic region.
Cochrane Denmark’s primary activities are:
- Researching evidence-based medicine, particularly concerning Cochrane Review methodology
- Support authors based in Denmark to prepare, publish and update Cochrane Reviews
- Support and develop the Cochrane community in Denmark
About Cochrane
Cochrane is a global independent not-for-profit organisation made up of a network of researchers, health professionals, patients, carers, and other people interested in health. Our network with members in more than 130 countries gathers and summarizes the best evidence from research to help you make informed choices about treatments and other health interventions, and we have been doing this for over 25 years. We work together to produce reliable systematic reviews of the benefits and harms of healthcare interventions that are used by individuals, organisations, and governments around the world. These reviews are recognised as representing an international gold standard for high quality, trusted information.
There is no one place or office that is 'Cochrane'. Each group is a 'mini-organization' with its own funding, website, and specialized tasks. Our global network of members and supporters work together to achieve our strategic goals and are usually affiliated to one or more Cochrane Groups based on their interests, expertise, and/or geographical location. We do not accept commercial or conflicted funding for our groups or review production, and we have a strict policy regulating conflicts of interest for authors. This is vital for us to generate authoritative and reliable information, working freely, unconstrained by commercial and financial interests.
