I am not a researcher, so I do not have the professional curiosity that incites the academics to take part in this project. However, as a person who grew up in a region which historically for decades had been considered neither German nor Polish, I am glad to be a part of B-SHAPES. I am looking forward to finding more people who have similar sentiments on identity. And – I am looking forward to spreading the news about the project further and further!
The European Network of Remembrance and Solidarity (ENRS) is another of B-SHAPES’ non-academic partners, contributing to achieve societal impact. ENRS fosters dialogue on European history in the 20th century, based on scientific excellence. It has international dissemination experience within the scientific community, politics and civil society. ENRS will also support the involvement of youth in B-SHAPES.
