My adventure in researching borders and borderlands began in 2003, when I worked in a project of the theater in Görlitz "Telling your life story, remembering together the history”. Since then, I have been working scientifically on the issues of borders and borderlands from different angles. As sociologist I am mostly interested in people’s experiences, practices, and perceptions. My motivation for joining the B-SHAPES project was primarily to reconstruct narratives and stories on Europe and borderlands from a grassroots perspective. It is the borderlanders who for many reasons may cross and bridge borders or reborder in their everyday life. This is what I would like to explore further.
