Mihail Vaklinov graduated in Prehistoric Archeology from the New Bulgarian University.
He specialized at the Universita Della Calabria in server systems and
museum fund management software. From 1996 to 2003, he worked at the
National Archaeological Institute with a Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of
Sciences. During this period, he participated in the team that completely
renovated the museum's permanent exhibition, as well as in several
temporary exhibitions in the country and around the world. From 2003 to
2018, he worked in the field of marketing, advertising and public
relations. The agency, where he worked was awarded an award by the
Association of Advertising Agencies.
In 2003, together with the Sofia Film
Fest team, he created and became the main coordinator of the "Jameson Short
Film Award". In 2015, he realized the independent fusion festival
"Transfiguration" in the village of Dolen, which was realized again in 2016
under the name "Zenith". In 2017, 2020 and 2019, he was the main organizer
and participant in the international festival Homeland at the Crossroads
(Forumul Cultural Bulgar/Bulgarian Cultural Forum) in Star Beshenov,
Romania, Kikinda, Serbia and Dolen, Bulgaria. Since 2018, he has been
working at the National Museum of History, Public Relations Department.
Since 2018, he has been a participant and initiator of numerous exhibitions
and events in the museum and beyond. From 2022, he is a member of the
management board of the National Culture Fund. Since 2018 Mihail is
excavating and making field research in the border area of Gotse Delchev –
Western Rhodopa Mountain and in the Northern and Eastern parts of Republic
of Greece.
While all consortium members are networked with different agents of the heritage industry and will involve them in the B-SHAPES’ activities, two non-academic partners will coordinate the involvement of agents of the heritage industry: ENRS and the National Museum of History in Sofia, Bulgaria. The National Museum of History is one of the largest museums on the Balkan Peninsula and has a broad expertise in collecting, restoring, and popularizing European heritage artefacts originating in the Bulgarian lands.
