I am senior lecturer of history at Halmstad University in Sweden. I am
relatively new to the field of border studies, but I have often worked with
issues that thematically overlap, such as historical connections in a
maritime context - shipping and sailors - as well as studies on spatial configurations of social networks and cross-border tech transfer.
I got my PhD from the university of Gothenburg in 2004. In 2013 I joined
Halmstad University, where I have been involved in fields like tourism
studies, Cultural Studies programs and history at the teacher's college.
My research interests lie mostly in the fields of maritime history and
history of technology, but I also do criminology and heritage studies. My latest project is on "walk-alongs" with people from the Majorna
neighborhood in Gothenburg. I see now that borders, real or imagined, always have been part of my
research.
