Alexandra Boltasseva

Alexandra Boltasseva is a professor of electrical and computer engineering and a professor of materials engineering in the Birck Nanotechnology Center and Purdue Quantum Science and Engineering Institute at Purdue University. She was educated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and holds a PhD degree from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

Her major research interest is nanophotonics, plasmonics, optical metamaterials, nanofabrication and optical materials. She is an elected fellow of numerous societies, including Optical Society of America (OSA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), International Society for Optical Engineers (SPIE), and National Academy of Inventors (NAI). She serves as the editor-in-chief for Optical Materials Express (OSA/OPTICA).
