Catarina Ferreira is a post-doc researcher at POLIMA since October 2023. She has a background in Physics, having pursued both her bachelor and master studies at University of Minho, in Portugal. She later moved on to Barcelona, where she got her PhD degree in Photonics at ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences, and Politecnic University of Catalonia.
She has strong expertise in light management for energy conversion devices, such as photovoltaic and photoelectrochemical cells, both from a theoretical and from an experimental perspective. She is currently working in a jointly collaboration between POLIMA and SOLEN Elite Center on Solar Energy Conversion and Storage.
