Vocal Neuromechanics Lab
The Vocal Neuromechanics Lab looks at the interface of neuroscience, biomechanics, muscle physiology, morphology and evolution to unravel physical principals and motor control of sound production.
Marine Bioacoustics
We study hearing, sound production, and acoustic behaviour of marine mammals, marine birds, and fish, with trained individuals kept in our facilities and in the field.
Bat Echolocation Lab
We primarily study how bats actively shape their perception through dynamic control of their emitted calls and their echo reception, both in the field and under controlled laboratory conditions.
Middle ear function, evolution and development
Main Topics of research: Function and evolution of the middle ear, development of the middle ear and mechanisms of directional hearing in vertebrates.
