"STEAM and trades outreach: a Yukon Story"

We will delve into the reality of STEAM and trades outreach and education work in the Yukon Territory of northwestern Canada, highlighting innovative strategies and community-driven initiatives aimed at bridging the skills gap in this remote region. Through partnerships between local schools, First Nation communities, community-based programs, industry leaders, and government agencies, various programs have been developed to enhance educational opportunities, provide hands-on learning experiences, and foster interest in opportunities that are locally relevant and grounded in the distinct realities around the Territory.  By showcasing these efforts, this presentation provides insights into effective models of STEAM and trades outreach that could be replicated in other remote and rural communities.
