Bio

Lars Grassmé Binderup is a Ph.D. and M.litt in Logic and Metaphysics from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, as well as an mag.art in Philosophy from Aarhus University. He has been Vice Head of the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Religion (2007-11) and since 2011, he has been Vice Dean for education at The Faculty of Humanities. Professionally, he currently works with human rights and medical ethics.

Lars is married and has three children.

    • Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy and The Study of Religion, University of Southern Denmark.(2004-)
    • Guest teacher (annually) European Master in Human Rights and Democratisation in Venice. (2012-)
     
    • Vicehead (for education) of the Department of Philosophy and The Study of Religion. (2007-11)
    • Member of the Steering Committee of PHIS - The Danish Research Training Programme in Philosophy, History of Ideas and History of Science. (2008-10)
    • Co-director of three 3-year projects financed by Open Society Institute (Higher Education Support Programme - Regional Seminar for Excellence in Teaching) – based at Ural Federal University, Russia (summer/winter schools in Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Tbilisi, Odessa, Kiev og Istanbul).(2006-13)
    • Member of the Quality Board at SDU. (2010-13)
    •  Vice Dean for Education (Humanities), SDU.(2011-present)
    • External expert on quality assurance at Bifrost University, Iceland. (2012-19)
    • Member of the University Council for Education (Uddannelsesrådet) at SDU. (2013-present
    • Member of EU-Specialudvalget for ungdom og uddannelse, Ministry of Education. (2016-)
    • Member of the Steering Committee for the Arab Master in Democracy and Human Rights in Beirut. (2017-)
    • Member of the Exam Commission for European Master in Human Rights and Democratisation in Venice. (2018-)
    • Member of the Board of the Danish Institute for Human Rights. (2020-)
