Adelina Rogowska-Wrzesinska is Associate Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Southern Denmark, where she also completed her PhD followed by post-doctoral study (2001 – 2008). Adelina’s research work focuses on molecular ageing by studying how biological molecules like proteins, lipids and other metabolites change inside our cells with time and how does that affect our ability to recover and renew our tissues to stay healthy. She is using various biomolecular tools in her studies including advanced mass spectrometry capable of analysing thousands of proteins and lipids from a single sample; applied biostatistics and bioinformatics to analyse the large amounts of data obtained in proteomics experiments, dedicated sample preparation methods to isolate and identify oxidised proteins and three dimensional cell cultures as in vitro models mimicking human tissues.
