    This report is the fifth output from the project ‘Social Inclusion and Volunteering in Sports Clubs in Europe’ (SIVSCE). The report builds on a collection of ‘good practices’ of sports clubs in all of the ten participating countries, with the aim of providing a qualitative description of specific sports clubs and projects that are successful with social integration and in recruiting and retaining volunteers.

    Characteristics of European sports clubs

    The second report in the project ‘Social Inclusion and Volunteering in Sports Clubs in Europe’ (SIVSCE) describes central characteristics of European sports clubs across the ten countries that are part of the project. A total number of 35,790 sports clubs have participated in the nationwide surveys, which makes for the largest comparative data on sports clubs ever to have been collected. Overall, the results show how sports clubs in Europe represent a large diversity, and how there are both interesting similarities and differences between the countries.

    Similarities and differences in sports club policies across ten European countries

    The first report in the project ‘Social Inclusion and Volunteering in Sports Clubs in Europe’ (SIVSCE) has now been published. In the report, sports club policies have been collected and analysed across the ten countries that are part of the project. The report offers eight conclusions that summarize the significant similarities and differences identified between the countries.

    30,000 sports clubs in Europe active in the name of social inclusion and volunteering

    A large part of the data collection for the Erasmus+ Sport project “Social Inclusion and Volunteering in Sports Clubs in Europe” (SIVSCE) was concluded this week. 30,000 sports clubs across ten European countries showed their dedication to voluntary work by answering a questionnaire.

    Project "kick-off" in Odense

    All partners were present when the first meeting in the project “Social Inclusion and Volunteering in Sports Clubs in Europe” (SIVSCE) were held in Odense, Denmark on April 15th and 16th. The purpose of the meeting was to “kick off” the project and to discuss the implementation of the first two work packages – a collection of sports policies (WP1) and a sports club survey (WP2).
