It is expected that you have followed the journal’s author guidelines and have checked the format and content of the references.

When you have a document for editing:
- Check through your manuscript using the Medical Writing Checklist
- You can download it from the WRITE website (either directly or via the interactive map)
- Or get the free app ("Medical Writing Checklist") so you can “tick off” each item as you check it in your manuscript.
- Send your manuscript to Claire directly (cgudex@health.sdu.dk), with c.c. to Jacob Christensen (jacoc23@student.sdu.dk)
- Subject: BRIDGE document for editing

My name is Claire Gudex, and I work as medical writer at BRIDGE one day a week. My function will be to help you with scientific publications in English, mainly through editing of the final draft before a manuscript is submitted to a journal.
I am a native English speaker from New Zealand and have a medical degree and PhD (Auckland) and Danish medical authorization. Most of my 30-year career has been spent in health services research and in particular measurement of patient outcome and quality of life.
I have been affiliated with SDU and OUH for 15 years, first as researcher in health economics at IST, then sub-investigator for osteoporosis research projects at the Department of Endocrinology, and now as assistant professor at the Department of Clinical Research, where I teach article writing and (scientific) English grammar to PhD students. During my 23 years in Denmark, I have edited many articles and PhD theses in all areas of medicine and the health sciences.
How can I help you?
I can offer text editing of English-language scientific articles and major project applications. My focus will be on correcting grammatical errors, improving the sentence flow, and ensuring that the meaning is clear. Let me know if you also want me to reduce the number of words (I can usually find some unnecessary ones…).
My edits will all be marked as ‘tracked changes’, and I use British English unless I hear otherwise from you.
