Project Description
The general aim of this project is to provide the tools to encourage the participation of flexible consumers – and more specifically large industrial consumers - in energy markets. This project therefore focuses on the identification and characterization of these consumers’ flexibility, to then assess their suitability in different markets, and finally quantify the financial returns of such flexible operations. The simulation environment built for this purpose is data-driven, to replicate short-term operation conditions, yet it remains adaptable to different market contexts. Indeed, through the SDC collaboration the project also analyses the influence of the Danish and Chinese energy market ecosystems respectively on the results, in order to draw conclusions on favorable future policies for demand response integration.
